I also understand the experience of cultural insensitivity in cities and universities. When I started university, despite having wonderful mentors, I faced bullying from classmates and roommates. Once, during a discussion on social values, a classmate asked, "Why is Chitrali culture known for selling daughters?" Our professor wisely advised her to reconsider her sources, highlighting the harmful stereotypes behind her question. Such ignorance stems from a lack of education about diverse cultures and an unwillingness to respect others. Parents need to teach their children to respect all cultures and religions. As Chitralis, we hold the Kalash people in high regard, seeing them as an integral part of our community. Our shared history in the remote regions of Chitral has fostered mutual care and respect for centuries. At last to all tourists visiting Bumburet, please remember that the Kalash are cherished, kind, and peaceful people with a rich culture. They deserve the same respect and kindness they show to others. Let's celebrate their unique heritage and treat them with the dignity they deserve.
